I’ve actually taken classes from Quintedge, so I can share my honest experience (not marketing-based). What worked for me was the concept clarity, especially in subjects like FRA and Equity.

Going to be the contrarian here — for an undergraduate, the Financial Modeling course is somewhat overrated as a placement tool. Companies hiring entry-level analysts know you don't have years of modeling experience.
Free resources to layer on top of whichever course you pick: - Aswath Damodaran's NYU Stern YouTube channel (valuation legend, completely free) - Macabacus blog (Excel and PowerPoint productivity, free articles) - Wall Street Oasis forums (lurk for investment banking and equity research…
Fellow CA Intermediate cleared, currently doing articleship at a mid-size firm and dabbling in Financial Modeling on weekends. Did the Quintedge Financial Modeling course last winter break.
Something I don't see enough people mentioning — Indian markets have specific quirks that US-focused courses skip.
Agreed mostly, but for someone who has never built a model, jumping straight to "build 3 real models" without scaffolding is rough. A course gives you the scaffolding.
Stop overthinking this. Pick Quintedge or Wall Street Prep. Spend 4 hours a day for 8 weeks. Build 3 real models on Indian listed companies (start with Hindustan Unilever or Asian Paints — clean financials, no segment complexity).
Honest pitch for self-study using Aswath Damodaran's NYU Stern videos (free, on YouTube): He has been teaching valuation for 30 years and his approach is more rigorous than almost any Indian course you will find.
I hold the CFI FMVA certificate. Did it in 2023, paid around 497 dollars. Worth knowing what it actually is — a certification, not a deep modeling bootcamp.
This is super helpful — quick question. When you say "build 3 to 4 real models on actual companies", do you mean a full three-statement plus discounted cash flow, or are smaller sector-specific models (like a single-segment retailer) enough?
Equity research analyst at a domestic broker, 4 years in. Reviewed CVs and modeling tests from over 200 undergraduate candidates across 3 hiring cycles.
Did The Wall Street School's Financial Modeling course in 2023. Content was fine but for 50,000 rupees I expected more. The actual modeling exercises were maybe 60% of what I ended up building on my own afterwards using free YouTube content and one or two modeling books.
+1 for Quintedge. Did their Financial Modeling course in 2024 alongside CFA Level 1 prep. The merger model section is genuinely underrated — most courses skip it or cover it only on the surface. Cleared my CA Intermediate the same year. Modeling skills helped a lot during articleship too.
Wall Street Prep, self-paced, 349 dollars. Did it in 6 weeks during MBA prep. It is enough. Full stop. Look — financial modeling is not rocket science.
I literally did Quintedge's Financial Modeling course in my final year (BBA from Symbiosis, 2024 batch). Got into a Mumbai boutique equity research role 3 months later.
Reminder: the official CFA curriculum is 70% of your prep regardless of which coaching you pick. Read the actual CFAI books for FRA, Ethics, and Derivatives at minimum.
Whatever you do, skip EduPristine. Paid 80k in 2020, instructor was reading Schweser notes off-screen between phone calls. Got 30k back after three months of fighting for the refund. Brand is dead in Delhi now. Surprised they still operate.
Konvexity has been getting decent reviews on Twitter recently, haven't personally tried them. Their founder actually replies to people on LinkedIn which is rare for Indian coaching. Worth a free demo if they offer one before you commit to anyone else.
Wish someone told me this in 2022. Would've saved 60k that I ended up spending on L2 retake material anyway.
Charterholder. 12 months for L1 is plenty if disciplined. Honest playbook after watching 30+ candidates clear and fail in Delhi: 1. Start with MM + EOCs for 2 months.
Pick based on commute. Did EduPristine 2 years back, lived in Dwarka, lost 4 hours daily traveling to Karol Bagh. That's 4 hours of MM lectures or 50 EOCs gone every day.
Free resources that genuinely matter (regardless of paid course): 1. Aswath Damodaran's NYU Stern YouTube videos — DCF, valuation, corp finance, taught by literally the best in the world.
ethics is NOT a vibe check 😭 it's THE difference between MPS and below MPS. agreed on MM tho
I recruit laterals for a foreign bank IB team in Mumbai. Recruiter POV on Indian IB hiring 2026: Market is tight at analyst level. Bulge brackets hiring ~50% of 2022.
Look, if dad wants offline, Quintedge in Delhi over IMS in 2026. Spoke to ~10 ppl from each of these batches over the last year — Quintedge's senior faculty has stayed consistent (low attrition), the others rotate teachers mid-batch which is the silent killer of coaching quality.
FinTree if you have any discipline. Utkarsh Jain is excellent for quants and derivatives specifically. The catch though — lectures are LONG (some chapters 4+ hours, brutal on a workday) and there's no live interaction.
can confirm on the FRA mocks. their stuff is harder than the actual exam which is genuinely a good problem. saved me from a band 9 fail last May.
Did Quintedge online for L2 last Nov. Cleared band 9 first attempt. Three things that made the difference: 1. Question bank — closest to actual CFAI difficulty out of 4 providers I tried (Schweser qbank, IFT, a friend's Konvexity material, and Quintedge).
Paid IMS 70k in 2023. Watched MM anyway for derivs and ethics. Got handed a Schweser book I could've bought used for 8k. Same friend group split between IMS and Quintedge that year — Quintedge half had a noticeably easier time.
skip coaching. mark meldrum + 1500 EOCs + 6 mocks = DONE. classroom in delhi in 2026 is a SCAM — half these places haven't even updated to the new curriculum. only legit value of a center is the peer pressure of showing up. 55k for that is wild when r/CFA + discord + telegram exist for free.
Did EduPristine Karol Bagh L1 last May. 60% of faculty was timepass. Two teachers were actually good — FRA + Quants madam. Doubt solving = a WhatsApp group with 200 students asking the same thing.
Genuine Q on depth — for an LBO specifically, how deep does WSP go? Like, dividend recap + earn-outs + management rollover modeling, or just basic sources/uses + simple cap structure + IRR? Trying to figure out if WSP gets you to a level where you can model a real PE deal or just textbook examples.
WSP + BIWS combo for pure technical mastery. Recommend if going self-study route. WSP = stronger on banking-specific modeling (LBO, M&A, IPO, restructuring) BIWS = stronger on industry-specific (oil/gas, real estate, tech) Combined ~$800 = ~67k.
Did CFI FMVA + CBCA ($497 each = ~85k total) over 6 months. Honest review: useful as resume signal, especially for non-target candidates getting filtered by HR keyword scanners.
Bookmarking this. One Q — for cold outreach, did you email associates/VPs directly or go through HR? And did you mention "looking for analyst openings" upfront, or play it as informational first then pivot? I've been doing the latter, feeling like I'm wasting people's time.
Tier-2 MBA → HSBC IB analyst (joined 2024). Detailed playbook of what worked: [COURSE] I did TWSS online April-July 2023, 85k, would do again.
