Hi everyone,
I come from a finance background and have been exploring different career paths in risk, analytics, and core finance roles. FRM often comes up as a strong certification, but I’m honestly a bit confused about its real value in India.
I’d really appreciate hearing from people who are pursuing FRM or have already completed it, especially about job relevance, roles it actually helps with, and whether it’s worth the time and effort here. Genuine experiences would really help me make a clearer decision.

I had the same doubt last year. FRM is useful in India, but primarily if you’re targeting risk, credit, treasury, or analytics roles, rather than pure investment banking or accounting. After clearing Part 1, I started getting interview calls for credit risk and risk analyst profiles in banks and NBFCs. What helped most was the practical risk concepts and market understanding, not just the certificate. If you genuinely like risk/markets and plan to build skills alongside FRM (Excel, SQL, basic Python), it’s definitely worth it.
