CFA vs FRM - an honest take for finance students who are confused (like I was)

Not here to say one is better. Just sharing what I wish I knew earlier.
CFA = broader, brand recognition is massive, takes 3-4 years minimum
FRM = focused on risk, faster to complete, extremely valued in specific roles
If you want to be a portfolio manager → CFA makes more sense
If you're targeting risk, treasury, derivatives, structured finance → FRM is sharper and faster ROI
The mistake most students make is picking based on what their college senior did, not what role they actually want.
What's your target role? Happy to give a more specific take.
